PROTOTYPE 1 by Sheila Von Dalay PROBLEM STATEMENT A college student needs equipping in boosting his confidence because academics and skills alone are not sufficient in ensuring a good first job experience. IDEATE SELECTION (Revised) A required Workplace-Laboratory Class for all graduating students with the purpose of creating a close-to-reality workplace environment and where students will experience professionalism early on
  2. 2. PROTOTYPE 1 A Workplace-Laboratory Class PHASE 1: Enrolling for the Subject (which can be a Sample Company Name) is via Submitting Resume and Job-Interview Type. RESUME INTERVIEW HIRED TO THE COMPANY
  3. 3. PROTOTYPE 1 A Workplace-Laboratory Class PHASE 2: Classroom Set Up is WorkStation, and Teacher will be called Boss. Students will be on probation for first weeks. They will be given different menial tasks and be under supervisors. Work Stations BOSS SUPERVISOR FILING ERRANDS SIT-IN to VARIOUS MEETINGS
  4. 4. PROTOTYPE 1 A Workplace-Laboratory Class PHASE 3: Mid Term Exam can be their mastery of the Company’s workflow. They will also be graded for punctuality. Grades can be translated to ‘salary figures’ COMPANY PROFILE OFFICE HOURS RECORD $$$
  5. 5. PROTOTYPE 1 A Workplace-Laboratory Class PHASE 4: In order to be promoted, the will make a Project Study for the benefit of the company. It will be their Final Exam Grade. PROPOSAL and REVISIONS Submit a Proposal to the Supervisor PRESENTATIONS To the BOSSES PREPARATIONS & PROMOTION PROJECT LAUNCH to ‘CLIENTS’ Finals: PROMOTED TO EMPLOYEE
  6. 6. PROTOTYPE 1 A Workplace-Laboratory Class FEEDBACK TEST: - “Great idea! This would really help graduates to be the reality and the large difference between school and work setups.” -Instead of “errands”, use “training”; instead of “filing” use “paper works” -Include working with teams

PROTOTYPE 1 A Workplace-Laboratory Class REFLECTION: a.What I learned by testing the prototype? - Just as one big idea can be dissected into fifty and more threads, so can a lot of details can still point to its one goal – that is, the pursuit of empathy b. What I would do next if I were to continue working on the project. - connect with representatives from the College, the graduating students, and the HR’s of companies to provide more input to the proposal of this recommendation
