Based on her inspiration at HCHS, Lindsay developed an initiative that is youth lead and community supported. Your Inner Child builds on the expertise and recommendations developed by the youth delegates and is being implemented by Lindsay in the Ottawa region.

    • In a natural setting
    • without SUPERVISION!

    • YIC Event
    • ‘ Your Inner Child’ Community & Youth Event
  • 4. “ WHY. I. SEE.”…A NEED
    • Opportunities for people of all ages to relive Childhood Play Memories
    • Socially inclusive low cost activities
    • Anywhere & Anytime
    • Engaging and exploring
    • To remind, refresh, and relive some fun
    • But most of all play-based FUN!

    • Y.I.C. YOUTH
    • Goal: YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
    • To provide all youth from all places and life experiences with opportunities to meet, socialize and play in an outdoor community setting.
    • All Y.I.C events will encourage the following-
    • Physical Activity
    • Positive Social Networking
    • Learning
    • Youth Empowerment
    • All events would be organized by local youth & be totally free

    • Health & Happiness
  • 7. Community Fundraisers
    • Good Old Fashioned family FUN Events built on Childhood memories
    • Fundraising opportunities built into each event
    • Quarterly
    • Targeting ALL ages to participate & watch
    • Corporate sponsorship
    • Built on youth consultation allowing the youth to decide the activities
    • Games like flashlight tag, musical chairs, sand castle building, finger painting.
    • School Aged Children
    Youth Annual Event Y.I.C. EVENTS
  • 8. Y.I.C Example-F.O.R.T .
    • Why? To get people to go outside and play together
    • What? A Snow Fort Building Competition
    • When? Sometime in February/March
    • Who? Teams of 10
    • made up of various community members
    • inclusive of all ages, stages and abilities
    • How? Invite teams for a day of friendly snow fort
    • building and fun.
