The basics of Google  Google have a large database of sites, which are indexed and rank according to keywords  Googlebot is a robot which travels around the web all the time viewing websites and reporting back the information to google.  The information then forms the decision on where you appear in google results. (along with a lot of other factors, such as inbound links, standards compatibility)
  3. 3. Designing for best results  Workout what keywords need to be used in the site and where they should be.  Ensure the content matches the keywords  Display the content in a way which googlebot can read.
