Too Much Coconut Oil in Your Hair?

  1. 1. Is There Too Much Coconut Oil in Your Hair? If you use coconut oil on your hair, you will eventually have too much coconut oil on your hair. You may not end up in the emergency room but you’ll be irritated.
  2. 2. It’s Very Easy to Apply Too Much Coconut Oil Part of the learning curve is in your daily use of coconut oil. Keep in mind your purpose in using coconut oil in the first place. You are trying to have healthy hair. A little daylong bath in extra oil is good for your hair if you can find a way to tolerate it.
  3. 3. Here is some information for when you get too much coconut oil in your hair:
  4. 4. How bad is it? Do you have a lot of coconut oil on your hair or a little? As soon as you start playing with it or brushing it – you will have a bigger problem as coconut oil disperses further throughout your hair. It will not get better by playing with it. The only way to make it go away is time for it to soak in     be washed out over time use baking soda to strip your hair styling it oily hiding it
  5. 5. Where are you going? Can you go looking like you are? Your hair might look better than you think. Ask someone if you can. Use a hat, scarf or clips to style it in a way that suits the wet look.
  6. 6. How much time do you have? If it is night-time, you can go to sleep. Your hair will magically be less coconut oil saturated in the morning as the coconut oil soaks in overnight. Maybe you will like the result as I do 90% of the time. Try running your life so that you apply coconut oil at night: Coconut Oil at Night You can towel dry (lightly scrub) your hair to soak some coconut oil out of your hair and into the towel. Be gentle and don’t tear at your hair. You may be able to get a presentable tousled look out of the coconut oil hair overdose.
  7. 7. Can you take a shower and start over? Sometimes that is the only choice.
  8. 8. How much do you want to get rid of the coconut oil in your hair? Baking soda gently fingered through your hair in the shower will cut the coconut oil out of your hair. Do not scrub baking soda into your hair or scalp. Baking soda is strong on skin and hair. After I take that drastic step, I need to re-wash or at least use regular conditioner again. My hair will still have coconut oil in it when it is dry, but it will be much less. Coconut Oil Gets everywhere and you must learn to live with it.
  9. 9. Can you style your hair greased back? This is your best, easiest and hair-friendliest strategy. Develop a hairstyle you can go out with that is full-on coconut oil saturated. For me, that is a bun or pony tail. In my opinion, both of those styles have been improved by my use of coconut oil. I have no more flyaway hairs and my style stays put better. I get compliments when my hair is drenched like that. The coconut oil does not drip after the first thirty minutes or so.
  10. 10. To Your Future Beautiful Hair Good luck with using coconut oil on your hair. Remember to go lightly and don’t sweat it when you have too much on there.
