Today, Rile is an active 9-year-old child, thanks for the success of his ASD
surgery in India
Hello, my name is Mrs. Peggy Little and I am from Nigeria. My husband and I
came to India for our son’s atrial septal defect (ASD) surgery. It began as a
stomachache that would not go away. Just a few months before of his ninth
birthday, my son Rile little experienced severe pain in his stomach and later he
started vomiting. When that would not stop, I took him to a local doctor where he
was mistakenly diagnosed with a 48-hour stomach virus. Days later, Rile was so
severely dehydrated that we had to take him to a Children’s Healthcare hospital
in Nigeria. After the X-rays were taken we found out that the results were serious:
the problem was not Rile’s stomach, it was his heart. We knew that something
needed to be done immediately, but we just could not find the proper medical
treatment in our own country and I did not want to take chances with my child’s
life. My husband’s friend suggested that we contact Dr. Dheeraj Bojwani of the
Forerunners Healthcare group in India for the ASD surgery. We spoke with Dr.
Dheeraj Bojwani, and he completely understood the urgency of the matter and
immediately made all the necessary arrangements for my son’s ASD surgery in
India. On our arrival at the international airport, an ambulance was already
waiting for us. Rile was taken to a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and was
diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition in which the heart becomes
weakened and enlarged and cannot pump blood efficiently. Rile’s surgeon did
not know exactly what had caused his cardiomyopathy; he told us that Rile
needed a new heart. The surgeon arranged for a suitable donor. The surgery
was a success, and doctors cleared Rile to go home less than a week later. With
no current signs or rejection, Rile’s doctors say that his growth and development
are on track for his age. Today, Rile is an active 9-year-old. My husband and I
credit the expert care provided by Dr. Dheeraj Bojwani and the Forerunners
Healthcare group in India for the ASD surgery and my enduring personal faith
with getting us through the ordeal. I will never hesitate to recommend the
Forerunners Healthcare group to anyone going through what I have been
through. Thanks to them my son is now living a normal and active life after his
ASD surgery in India. I am eternally grateful to them!!
