    Notes on slide 1

So what is all this new stuff? What are the New Rules, What are the New Tools

We are going to focus on the ones that give us the biggest bang for the buck – we call them the big fourFacebook – if it were a country, it would be the 4th largestYouTubeTwitterLinkedinBUT

So new technology is coming faster and faster, how do we create a decision making guide for accepting or rejecting them into the “To Do” pile? What are the Issues? You will find that all your issues will fall into 3 main buckets – Money, Actions & People

So there’s a lot in the landscape, let’s consider how we might use the big 4

Of note-loyal community-forum for two way communication-customers love to have a voice-they are having the conversations about you, we suggest you join themApplication-advocacy-listen for needs-raise support and awareness

Of note:-measurable-low barrier to entry – slick vs. realApplication:-training internal and external-on your time -accessible almost anywhere-teach once and reuse-capture motion, sound, etc. to improve ability to diagnose field issues-test constructs with large populations

Of note:-People are adopting at a high rate-experimentation is high and acceptable – no right wayApplication:-Notifications-Alerts-Conversation-Monitoring – topics, brand equity

Of note:Road map of connections – people with niche specialties and a path to better evaluateSimilar to Facebook in that you can have two way conversationApplication:-Find specialty resources-create a community (group)-All these help you get found more easily on Google

So that was the deep dive, wish we had more time, but moving right along…

As you start to uncover your issues, you can systematically evaluate them against your organizational priorities – this is part of step 1 – defining your issues… AND not just define them, but with crystal clear clarity – think HD vs standard def TV… Suddenly the blades of grass on the football field come to life or we realize Regis is really getting old

Once we have a clearly defined list of issues and have prioritized them, we can do a assessment to see what our current health is and consider or desired or future stateFrom here we think about ways to implement new technology and other resources to address the gap

When you are reasonably confidant you are moving in the right direction – consider the StrategiesRisks and rewardsMethods to automate, combine and simplifyStart to use the tools, watch for improvements and adjust what doesn’t work Again, everything on the web is measurable –and either for free or pretty cheap, you can track what people respond to
