Mr. X saves the Earth! - Presentation Transcript

  1. This is the story of X.
    This is X
  2. Java(19.1%), C(15.2%)
    C++(10.1%), PHP(8.7%)
    Visual Basic(8.4%), Perl(6.2%)
    Python(3.8%), C#(3.7%)
    JavaScript(3.1%), Ruby(2.6%)
    Xwas a programmer
  3. Xhad a laptop, the latest phone, a LCD television and he also had a printer.
  4. But Xwas not happy.
  5. Because Xknew the Earth was dying.
  6. X wanted to “Save the Earth”
    But How?
    ?
  7. So X googled it…
    • He also joined forums
    • Asked his Twitter friends
    • Posted it on Facebook
    • Read blogs
    • Read Wikipedia
    • Tried every other thing
  8. But X was not satisfied…
    “404: Page not found”
    “No comments on this post”
    “This Wikipedia page needs verification”
  9. X even wrote a program to
    ‘Save the Earth’
    Start
    Enter ‘Earth’
    Save the Earth
    Has Earth been saved?
    No
    Yes
    Stop
    Global
    Variables
    missing
    But that also didn’t work!
  10. Then one day.. X set out to discover the truth…
  11. “The Truth”, he was told, lies hidden in
    the Himalayas!
    The Truth is here.
  12. He traveled thousands of miles…
    Truth
    Beer
  13. On his way to “The Truth” he noticed, that
the world is full of people,
    humans are everywhere.
  14. X’s Journal:
    Note to self:
I must practice birth control in my married life with ‘Y’. We’ll have only one child and we’ll call him ‘Z’. 
There are too many people on earth! Poor planet cannot take it anymore. I think if we can control our population somehow we can save a lot of resources and we ‘might’ save the earth.
  15. As he traveled far and wide, he faced the brunt of the scorching sun and missed the shade of trees.
  16. X’s Journal:
    Note to self:
It is time I started planting some trees. And I should spend more time in my garden than in my office.
Strangely, I am not missing my air conditioner but am missing trees. After all, I cannot carry my A.C with me. The world need more trees to cool down. And then we’ll have regular rains and many more freebies.
  17. The Road to ‘The Truth’ was difficult.
What was making it more unbearable was the polluted air.
    You @$@#$!!
    Stop driving a cigar!!
    *cough*
  18. !!!!!
And then he remembered, that it has been months since his car’s last maintenance. It dawned on him that he was himself ‘driving acigar’!
  19. X’s Journal:
    Note to self:
Carpool, regular maintenance, optimum inflation in tires, constant driving speeds – I have to learn many lessons!
And it is time to buy a bike!
Our cars contribute a lot to earth’s misery. We need to get out of them once in a while to realize the damage we are causing. We might not need better cars, if we can settle for ‘lesser’ cars.
  20. Himalayas were far and there were times when he’d have to travel long distances without water.
He had the money, but when water wasn’t available, money was useless.
    I can haz water! 
  21. Soon X realized that a large part of world‘s population doesn’t care about software updates and latest mobile phones.
    For them, Survival is Luxury!
  22. X’s Journal:
    Note to self:
I shall not waste water and try hard to conserve it. No more leaking taps, No sir!!
I shall save anything worth saving; electricity, water, food.. Everything.
Now that I’ve felt the pangs of thirst and hunger, I respect my luxury and I respect poverty too. Conservation is the key for we need ‘water’ more than the earth needs it. And saving water for one, is saving water for another!
  23. Andas X got closer to ‘the Truth’, he could feel it from within.
    I think I am having the heebie-jeebies!!
  24. X realized that there are still people who live without shelter, adequate food, potable water and basic education.
  25. X understood that the lucky ones who have wealth, must share some of it with those who don’t have enough.
  26. He learnt the greatest language of all times – the language of nature.
  27. And one dayX was there.
    The Truth is still here.
    Now, X is here
  28. And in that moment…
    Truth Inside
    (Handle with Care)
    He knew it all..
  29. X’s Journal:
    Note to self:
‘Saving the Earth’ isn’t difficult anymore. I realized my folly. You don’t save the Earth – rather, you save yourself!
I came all the way to discover the truth, thinking that the truth lies somewhere, hidden, waiting to be discovered. I was wrong. The truth is out there, in the open, it isn’t disguised, it is stark naked.
  30. Now Xis famous.
  31. And Xis happy.
  32. But Who is X?
  33. Well, like mathematical equations, X is very much unknown.
  34. Xcould be a programmer, a musician, a student, a dancer, a politician, a banker – he can be anyone, or everyone.
  35. Why don’t you try being X?
  36. Think about it.*
*And once you are done thinking, please DOsomething about it.
