The Day that some of the signs of your Lord will come no soul will benefit from its faith as long as it had not believed before or had earned through its faith some good. Say, "Wait. Indeed, we [also] are waiting." [ Surah al-Baqarah, 2 : Ayat 158 ] Prophet (saw) said, “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) observed: When three things appear faith will not benefit one who has not previously believed or has derived no good from his faith: the rising of the sun in its place of setting, the Dajjal, and the Beast of the earth.. [Sahih Muslim Hadith 296 Narrated by AbuHurayrah ] The Descent of Isa (as) Sahih International: And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. [ Surah Az-Zukhruf, 43, Ayat 61 ] The appearance of Yajooj & Ma’joo Sahih International: Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend. And [when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], “O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers.” [ Surah Al-Anbiya, 21 : Ayat 96 – 97 ] The Great Landslide in the EastThe Great Landslide in the WestThe Great Landslide in the Arabian Peninsula Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) came to us all of a sudden as we were (busy in a discussion) He said: What do you discuss about? (the Companions) said: We are discussing about the Last Hour. Thereupon he said: It will not come until you see ten signs before and (in this connection) he made a mention of the smoke,Dajjal, the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary (Allah be pleased with him),The Gog and Magog, and landslides in three places, one in the east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn forth from the Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly. [Sahih Muslim Hadith 6931, Abu-Dawud, at-Tirmidhi & Ibn-Majah. Narrated by HudhayfahibnUsaydGhifari ]  Ad-Dukhan :: The Smoke Sahih International: Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke. Covering the people; this is a painful torment. [ Surah Ad-Dukhan, 44; Ayat 10-11 ] Rising of the sun from the West Hadith reference in Section 2.1.1.6Sahih International: Do they [then] wait for anything except that the angels should come to them or your Lord should come or that there come some of the signs of your Lord? The Day that some of the signs of your Lord will come no soul will benefit from its faith as long as it had not believed before or had earned through its faith some good. Say, "Wait. Indeed, we [also] are waiting." [ Surah Al An’am, 6 : Ayat 158 ] The appearance of the Beast Sahih International: And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith]. [ Surah An-Naml, 27 : Ayat 82 ] The Great Fire Narrated by Abu Sa`id al-Khudri; The Messenger (saw) said: "At the end of the time of my ummah, the Mahdi will appear. God will grant him rain, the earth will bring forth its fruits, he will give a lot of money, cattle will increase and the ummah will become great. He will rule for seven or eight years. [ Mustadrak al-Hakim ]

World of the Unseen - I Presentation Transcript

  • 1. Hereafter - I
  • 2. Belief in the Last Day
    Part of Eeman
No one is a believer without belief in this pillar.
Sahih International: And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. [ Surah Baqarah, 2 : Ayat 4 ]
Sahih International: Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. [ Surah An-Nami, 27 : Ayat 3 ]
Allah enjoins belief in Him with the belief in the Last Day
Sahih International: Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous. [ Surah Al-Baqarah, 2 : Ayat 177 ]
  • 3. Belief in the Last Day
    Scope of this Belief
Belief that there will be another life after this one
This life is not the end, but there will be a Judgement Day, with recompense in al-Jannah (Paradise) or an-Nar (Hellfire or the Fire)
Scholars of aqeedah includes following sub-topics under this subject
The end of time (apocalypse) and its signs
Death, soul and life in the grave
    Resurrection
    The Day of Judgement
    Paradise & Hellfire
    The term Hour (as-Sa’ah) is used in two ways;
It is used to refer to death, as death is the end of this life for each individual
It is also used to refer to end of time for all :: The Apocalypse
An individual’s judgement begins upon his death, whereas the judgement of all creation will occur on “The Judgement Day”

    At Death
Allah’s Hesitation to take the Soul
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Allah said, 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge) and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him." (SahihBukhari, Book #76, Hadith #509)
    Presence of Shaytan at deathbed
A Kafir’s belief at the death bed is not acceptable

The believer’s soul comes out whilst he is praising Allah
The soul is taken, the eyes follow it. [Hadith in Muslim]
Angels come with silk cloth and ask the soul to come out. [ InbMajah, IbnHibban]

The gates of heaven are not opened for the Kafir
Allah (swt) orders that the soul of the Believer should be returned to the earth after his book has been registered in “al-Illiyun” [ Surah Al-Mutaffifin, 83, Ayat 18-20 ]
The soul of Kafir is thrown down from the heaven back into his body, after his book has been registered in “Sijjin”. [ Surah Al-Mutaffifin, 83, Ayat 7-9 ]
