    9. 9. What is “Grievance” ? <ul><li>Grievance is any discontent or dissatisfaction that affects organizational performance. It arises when an employee feels that something has happened or is going to happen which is unfair, unjust or inequitable . Thus, a grievance represents a situation in which an employee feels that something unfavorable to him has happened or is going to happen. </li></ul>

Grievance handling procedure in HCL <ul><li>They follow step ladder method for solving a grievance. </li></ul><ul><li>They have their own grievance handling portal site on which employee upload their grievances, it is first step. </li></ul><ul><li>Preparing of data related to grievance and sufferer on excel sheet( fields:- name, employee id , job profile, experience in HCL, cause of grievance, type of grievance, updates) </li></ul><ul><li>Interview of sufferer by project manager. </li></ul>

Everyone should be informed of company’s goals and expectation including what is expected from each individual. </li></ul><ul><li>Informal counseling helps to address and manage grievances in the workplace. </li></ul><ul><li>Conflict management in the organization will be helpful to reduce the number of grievance rates. </li></ul>
