Born in Selma, Alabama on March 17, 1972 Mia was one of 6 Moved about 7 times to places like Italy, Virginia, Texas and others because she lived in a military family Her family adopted an 8 year old Thai- American boy named Garret. Played football with all boys.
Because she was part of a military family, she didn’t have time to go to elementary school. For middle school she went to P.S. 121 For high school she went to Lake Braddock Secondary School and College and South Lakes And for college she went to University of North Carolina and Chapel Hill
Played on Womens USA National Soccer team Also played on the North Carolina Tar Heels Soccer team First got married to Christian Corry. Then Nomar Garciaparra (the short stop on the Boston Red Sox)
Main accomplishment- to improve 1987- youngest women to play on US National team(15) 1989- won 4 NCAA titles 1991- won the FIFA women’s world cup for first time
