  2. 2. Birth/Early Life<br />Jack was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He had eight brothers and sisters. His nickname was Jack. Jack liked to play sports like sailing and football. He was also very sick as a child.<br />
  3. 3. Education<br />John F. Kennedy went to Harvard University. In 1938, he went to Europe to see his dad. When he got back he wrote a long paper about his trip. Jack’s teachers liked it and it helped him graduate from Harvard with honors.<br />
  4. 4. Adult Life/Career <br />Jack joined the U.S. Navy in 1941. He was a hero in the Navy because he helped rescue his crew. In 1946, with the help of his family, Jack was elected to the U.S. Congress. Again, in 1952, he was elected to the U.S. Senate. In 1953, he got married. He was elected President of the U.S. in 1960. He had two children, Caroline and John Jr.<br />
  5. 5. Accomplishments<br />JFK had many accomplishments. Here are some of them. His book Why England Slept was published in 1940. While recovering from back surgery, he wrote another book called Profiles in Courage. It was published in 1956. After JFK’s death, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Johnson. <br />
  6. 6. Impact on the World<br />J.F.K. did many things to help the world be a better place. Did you know that J.F.K. created the Peace Corps in 1961? Also, did you know that he stopped the missile shipment to Cuba from the Soviet Union? In 1963, he helped make laws to make sure all Americans were treated the same. Not everyone liked what he did. He was assassinated on 11-22-1963. He was only 46 years old. <br />
