Global Corruption Report 2007 <ul><li>Thirty-six per cent of Indians paid bribes to the legal system in 2006 </li></ul><ul><li>The estimated the amount paid by Indians as bribes to the legal system at about Rs 2,630 crore (Rs 26.30 billion). </li></ul><ul><li>The majority of the bribes went to lawyers (61 per cent) followed by court officials (29 per cent) and middlemen (five per cent). </li></ul>
  3. 3. What can be done? <ul><li>To make our country free from corruption, basically the unaccounted cash transactions should be avoided. </li></ul><ul><li>For that the following system may be adopted ---- </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>In this system citizens of India above 12 years of age will receive a cell phone (identification instrument capable of data processing with the aid of network services and the master computer. </li></ul><ul><li>It will be integrated with Global Positioning System with built in history card, camera and finger print scanner. </li></ul>

Bucks will stop here <ul><li>Every citizen will be assigned with an identification number *** cell phone number with finger print details. </li></ul><ul><li>Children under 12 years of age have to be taken care by parents or guardians. </li></ul><ul><li>The history card consists of the following details and will be operated automatically from master computer through reliable networking systems:- </li></ul>

Contents of History Card <ul><li>Name </li></ul><ul><li>Family history </li></ul><ul><li>Identification number *** contact cell phone number (even though a person changes his/her name the identification number will not be changed) </li></ul><ul><li>Credit amount in rupees </li></ul><ul><li>Debit amount in rupees </li></ul><ul><li>Details of each cash transaction </li></ul><ul><li>Password protected transaction code </li></ul><ul><li>Type of transaction (details of work done and charges, reason for the transaction) </li></ul><ul><li>Net income </li></ul><ul><li>Net expenses </li></ul><ul><li>Tax payable to government (will be deducted automatically during every transaction and will be adjusted with the net income every financial year) </li></ul><ul><li>Marital status </li></ul><ul><li>Criminal records </li></ul>

Advantages of the Card <ul><li>Reduces corruption </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - irregularities in calculating tax </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - tedious calculations in finding net income </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - critical calculations in industries and inventory follow up </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - total control on unauthorized monetary and goods transaction </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - betraying, exploiting and cheating of innocent peoples, financial organizations through tricks, over commitment and magic </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces and totally eliminates fake currencies and fake stamp papers </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - selling bad quality or duplicate products </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces -sudden variations in market price through gambling </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - illicit commodities like country liquor, marijuana and other related things </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces -selling low valued goods with higher price </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - black markets and black money </li></ul><ul><li>Reduces - price difference among material suppliers </li></ul>
