Building Blocks to Student Access
Each Student will have the ability to:
Access all of their assignments, quizzes etc. in one convenient location.
Search for and save content into their own My Content area
Teachers will be able to:
Assign content to an individual student, multiple students or an entire class.
Track progress and student results
Create a folder of materials and assign materials for student project or remediation without the need to create an assignment
CREATING A CLASSROOM
After logging into Discovery Education, select My Classrooms from the top banner. Click on Create a Classroom to get started.
Name your class Set the start and end dates
Select students from your school/district roster and/or add new students.
Review your class. Create duplicate classrooms if necessary (e.g. different subjects for elementary classrooms, separate classrooms for Reading and Writing in Language Arts blocks, specialized populations for integrated classes, etc.)
Assigning Content to A Class or Individual Students in A Class
MY CONTENT : BOOKMARKING, ORGANIZING, AND SO MUCH MORE
Quizzes, Writing Prompts, and Assignments can be assigned from within My Content.
THE BUILDER TOOLS
Select My Builder Tools to create and assign Assignments, Writing Prompts, Quizzes, and assessments to entire classes or to specific students.
Assignments, Quizzes, and Writing Prompts can be assigned to individual students or classes.
Click on My Builder Tools
SAY WHAT? – USING WRITING PROMPT BUILDER
WYSIWYG Editing If you click on the HTML button on the WYSIWYG editing bar, you can paste embeddable HTML code to display widgets in your Writing Prompt instructions.
Highlight the text you want to become the hyperlink
Click the link icon
Change Target to “Open in New Window”
If the hyperlink is set to “Open in This Window” students will lose all their work when they navigate to the hyperlink

Process for First Time Students Students log into Discovery Education to view assigned content, track progress on completed assignments and assessments, and access bookmarked content through My Content. Student is asked if they are over or under 13 years old Student is directed to the appropriate spot depending on the answer Students.DiscoveryEducation.com
