  2. 2. Who is qualified to be a Teacher• Successfully completed teacher education qualifications like D.T.Ed., B.Ed., M.Ed., SET/NET, A.T.D. etc.• Must have passion of teaching and learning.• Competency of Teaching and Content. 2
  3. 3. Who is qualified to be a Teacher• After acquiring qualifications you search for teaching jobs.• This presentation will help you to prepare a C.V., an application and to face interview successfully for the post of teacher . 3
  4. 4. What is Readiness ?• How to prepare C.V.?• How to write an application ?• How to a document File?• How to face an Interview? 4
  5. 5. C.V.• Remember it is a C.V. of a teacher, so it should be neat, correct and descent.• Paste your passport size on right corner if mentioned in Advertisement.• Avoid spelling mistake.• Don’t use short forms.• Use simple and clear language. Don’t be too flashy. 5
  6. 6. C.V.• Write ‘Curricular Vitae’ or ‘Bio-Data’ on the top, central alignment.• Name & Address - Write your name and address on the top with right alignment. Don’t align left, it’s some part may disappear in filing.• Aim – Write achievable and practicable aim, in simple and clear words. Don’t be too ambitious or over confident.• Further content should be left aligned. 6

C.V.• Full Name, Postal address with PIN.• Contact – Landline No. with STD code, permanent mobile No. and e-mail ID.• Language known – mention level of language proficiency i.e.-read, write, speak etc.• Category – mention category not a caste. e.g. O.B.C., S.C., N.T.-3. Don’t mention Religion. 7
  8. 8. C.V.• Hobbies – Write real hobbies if any. Don’t just mention for the sake of impression. If you don’t have hobbies, don’t mention anything.• Special Achievements – First rank, Merit rank, Gold medal, Special prizes on district to international level in any co or extra curricular activities. Even Social or research achievement can be mentioned. It will impress employer additionally. 8
  9. 9. C.V.• Academic Qualification – It should be given in a Table Form.• Begin with Highest Qualification to lower one. e.g. Master’s Degree to SSC.• For all Degrees mention Special Subject and General subjects. 9
  10. 10. C.V.• Mention Methods of B.Ed.• Write Diploma courses like computer, foreign language, music, craft etc. also after Degree courses.• Mention Year, University/Board, College/school, Subjects, %, Class/Grade, Rank. 10
  11. 11. C.V.• Experience - After or before a table of qualification working Experience should be mention with duration, nature of job, employer etc. 11
  12. 12. C.V.• General Achievement - NCC, MCC, NSS, Sports, Elocution, Debate, Essay writing, Drawing, craft etc. 12
  13. 13. C.V.• Try to restrict C.V. up to 2 pages.• Don’t print back to back.• Give page numbers.• Always send a copy of CV with an application. 13
  14. 14. C.V.• Always keep extra copies of CV wit you.• Update CV regularly.• If required, submit updated copy of CV to the office before appearing an interview and mention in an interview. 14

Sender and Receiver• Write your name & Address as ‘From’ on the top of a page, Possibly right alignment.• Then write ‘To’ for Principal/Head/Secretary of a School, name & address of the school, as mentioned in an advertisement.• Don’t mention the name of Principal/Head/ Secretary even you know it. 16

  18. 18. Content• Express your will to work with them.• Mention the post and your Methods, subject of graduation and PG.• Brief about work experience in tenure. 18
  19. 19. Content• Also mention your special achievements in academic, co/extra curricular activities.• Convince them about your ability as a teacher.• Don’t use short form.• Use formal language and not an emotional.• Write in simple and brief language. 19
  20. 20. How to write an Application ?• Make maximum 3-4 paragraphs.• An application should be of Single Page.• Keep proper right alignment.• Font size may be 12 to 14. 20

  22. 22. File of Testimonials• Keep a receipt from school interview letter and more copies of CV with you.• Prepare a file of Documents.• Colour and texture of a file shouldn’t be too colourful or flashy but sober.• Arrange documents properly. 22
  23. 23. File of Testimonials• 1.Essentail Qualifications – NET/SET, Masters Degree, B.Ed., Bachelors Degrees with its mark lists, Degree certificates and Merit Certificates etc.• 2. Desired Qualification – Experience certificate, previous approvals, research projects etc. 23

File of Testimonials• Special Certificates – Remarkable achievements, prizes, certificates of competitions.• Foundations Certificates – SSC & HSC• Other – All remaining.• Don’t keep not required documents in the file e.g.- driving license, PUC, empty envelops etc.• Keep additional attested photocopies of documents. 24

  26. 26. Interview : Preparation• Confirm a schedule of an interview.• Get the information of how and where to reach.• Be sure about a venue because some time institute conducts interviews at head office/main campus/city office etc. 26
  27. 27. Interview : Preparation• If letter not received by you, and somebody else received, then inquire to the institute.• Send your confirmation to attend the said interview. 27
  28. 28. Interview : Preparation• Study thoroughly the subject content.• Note current events in your subject.• See the nature of your subject in the curriculum.• Get information about the institute and management. 28
  29. 29. On the Interview Day• Wear simple, sober and formal wear suitable for teacher in the society.• Eat enough before you leave the home.• Keep snacks and water bottles.• Leave the home by anticipating traffic and transport issues.• If distance is more leave one day before. 29
  30. 30. On the Interview Day• Reach before time at the said place.• Report in the respective office and sign on an attendance.• Confirm tentative timing of interview.• Talk to known-unknown candidates present, don’t look as a rival. It will release pressure. 30
  31. 31. On the Interview• Ask permission to enter.• Wish the panel. Say good morning / afternoon etc.• Don’t be nervous in front of panel. It is just a kind of discussion.• Keep eye to eye contact. Don’t look to ceiling/window/floors etc. 31
  32. 32. On the Interview• Give the file of testimonials when asked.• Generally first question is “Introduce self”• In an introduction – full name, qualifications -degree, subjects, college/school, university, experience and special ability as a Teacher. 32
  33. 33. On the Interview• Listen a question carefully and completely.• Give an answer to the panel, not to him only who asked.• Give realistic, practical and logical answers.• Don’t be too ideal or too realistic. 33
  34. 34. On the Interview• Be honest. If you don’t know answer, agree it. Don’t tell lies.• Use formal and simple language.• Don’t do extra gestures and postures.• Body language should be matured and controlled.• Don’t be showy.• Don’t be over confident. 34
  35. 35. On the Interview• Express your passion about teaching profession.• Don’t agree with all questions, they may tricky questions.• Sometimes argue but don’t fight with polite & normal voice. 35
  36. 36. On the Interview• Be prepare for some anticipated questions like “How you will contribute in this school/ college as a teacher?”• In the answer you should impress with your ability of teaching and experience, remarkable achievements. 36
  37. 37. On the Interview• Answer practically for the question about Salary. Tell your expectation in a range like 12 to 14 thousand.• Even you can say as per the rules/ pay scales. 37
