INNOVATION
INNOVATION…
OVER USED, ABUSED, MISUSED…..!!!!!
COLLABORATION…
collaboration [kəˌlæbəˈreɪʃən]n1. (often foll by on, with, etc.) the act of working with
another or others on a joint project
2. something created by working jointly with another or others
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/
innovation [ˌɪnəˈveɪʃən]n1. something newly introduced, such as a new
method or device
2. the act of innovating
What is common between all of them?
Innovation
is not
Epiphany
The light bulb analogy suggests that good ideas and innovations occur in an
instant flash of genius.
It also suggests that they are easy, just like turning on a light bulb.
And it suggest that they come from a single source
Faulty
understanding
Everything changes in our world
and all it takes is just time. The
mankind has started its evolution
more than 3000 years ago from the
invention of the fire and the
discovery of the circle, but during
this long period it has managed to
make a great progress and now we
do not talk about fire and circles
but Internet and Virtual Reality..
—John Cage
"Creativity involves breaking out of
established patterns in order to look at things in a
different way."
—Edward de Bono
Innovation is different from
creativity.
Creativity is an individual
effort, whereas Innovation is
the commercialization of
Creativity.
Innovation is like Ping Pong
It is okay to fail...
-
-How important do people in your organization see
innovation to be in their day-to-day jobs?
-How well is your organization recognizing and exploiting
the diversity of its people's talent?
-To what degree does senior management encourage
innovation by demonstrating that-'it is okay to fail'?
"The best way to kill creativity in a
team is letting the boss speak first."
INNOVATION KILLERS
Innovation killer #1: Believe that innovation will “just happen.”
Innovation killer #2: Tell everyone to “think outside of the box,” hold
a brainstorming session, then call it a day.
Innovation killer #3: Lay the success of innovation solely on IT’s
shoulders.
Innovation killer #4: Create an obstacle course for ideas.
Innovation killer #5: View “different” and “new” as bad.
Innovation killer # 6: Hand over the good ideas to the Legal and
Accounting departments.
Innovation killer #7: Be very, very afraid of failure
THE
POWER of

"It is the long history of humankind
