Perimeter  To find the perimeter of an object or shape add the lengths of all the sides.

Calculate the distance round a playground of length 85m and breadth 68m. A  5786m B  306m ² C  0.306km D  300m Example question P = 2L + 2W = (2 x 85) + (2 x 68)m = 170 + 136m = 306m = 0. 306km
How much edging would you need to go round a lawn of length 6.25m and breadth 4.5m? Give your answer to the nearest metre. A 22m B 21m C 21.50m D 20m Example question P = 2L + 2W = (2 x 6.25) + (2 x 4.5)m = 12.5 + 9m = 21.5m = 22m to the nearest metre
Example question How many 2-metre-long fence panels are needed to go round the site? A  7 B  13 C  18 D  26 4m 2m 6m Length of fence = 2( 6 + 4 + 2) + 2 = 26m Number of panels = 26  ÷ 2 = 13
