first year in primary education.
The students who have
completed basic education now
reach occupational group and
the stage of school choice. The
decision at this stage is very
important.
Parents,teachers and students
get together and they should
evaluate student’s ideals and
abilities in the most appropriate
way. In the light of the

selection of a profession it
should match the characteristics
of the profession with a
personal touch. To do this, the
person should be aware of self-
recognition,and have enough
knowledge about professional
occupations.
VOCATIONAL
EDUCATION
CENTER
It aims to provide
the young
between 14 and
18 years old
trying to build his
future working in
a workplace with
vocational
training through
the
apprenticeship
system. The

course,the general capabilities,

of vocational
schools are to
adopt the
profession that he

have in the future
at young age and
work in this
business willingly,
to be able to have
a profession and
to get a certificate
of opening a
business license
after school, to
have a chance to
have an
undergraduate
and a graduate
education in OSS
with or without an
examination, and
for the associate
degree students

transition.

VET guidance in Turkey History Legal framework/ Legislation Activities Providers Examples of good practices Post- Primary Vocational Guidance Post-Primary Guidance Students start to create their ideals and begin university preparation process from the first year in primary education. The students who have completed basic education now reach occupational group and the stage of school choice. The decision at this stage is very important. Parents,teachers and students get together and they should evaluate student’s ideals and abilities in the most appropriate way. In the light of the On 5/6/1986 with the law number 3308 it was called as “apprenticeship and vocational training law” but with the date 29/6/2001 and law number 22 it has been changed as “Vocational Education Law” On 17.4.2001 published on the official journal with the number 24376, it is added as MINISTRY OF NATIONAL While making a choice of profession Choice of profession is to be capable of containing the appropriate skills to do the best and having the ability to express himself at the highest level which is believed. For a correct selection of a profession it should match the characteristics of the profession with a personal touch. To do this, the person should be aware of self- recognition,and have enough knowledge about professional occupations. VOCATIONAL EDUCATION CENTER It aims to provide the young between 14 and 18 years old trying to build his future working in a workplace with vocational training through the apprenticeship system. Every students and counseling teachers are registered on this web link and have a password and user name and have to do it online. Also in every national education directorate there is a counseling service for the students and they can get benefit from these centers for free.
  • 2. observations made at the primary education level,it provides additional advantages if a student studies a field on which he is interested and talented. For example; the students who want to be teachers and have appropriate features in this field should be directed to teachers college, which will increase both students’achievement and provides additional points for university entrance exam. A student who graduates from teachers college has an advantage of solving less questions rather than a student who graduates from general high school for the same purpose, so the student graduating from teachers college is in more advantageous situation. If judged in these aspects, as post–primary education institutions are being detected, their talents,personality and interests should be evaluated in EDUCATION GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING SERVICES REGULATION. Stages 1.Self-knowledge 2.Recognition of Professions 3.Determination of Characteristics and Expectations of the person with the overlap of spots Crafts 1.Self-knowledge In vocational orientation,the person should recognize himself ,characteristics,interests and expextiations at first.In general, we can group individual characteristics as: a) Physical Features: Features such as gender, age, height, weight, health status, appearance, and tone of voice. b)Skills: -Psychological and Academic Skills: The overall success of the course,the general capabilities, the degree of social maturity, security S.S.K. Premiums are paid by the State. According to Law No. 3303 Law on Vocational Training, young people under the age of 19 benefit from students rights undergoing Practical Training at Vocational Training Centers once a week ( If Large Businesses create the necessary conditions, they can provide training in places they organize ) and in workplaces in other days
  • 3. terms of correct recognition at this stage by the student,family,school management and teachers and the family should get the adequate and accurate information about the higher education institutions. (From high school directors, guidance counsellor, primary school administrators and teachers) a proper guidance provided forms the basis of achievement in the academic process. High School Choice affects OSS (Student Selection Exam) The students have several high school types to choose. Of these, a student should determine the appropriate one for himself according to the realistic criteria.
