Choose your article type
(journal, magazine or newspaper)
from the pull-down menu
For example, Journal
You may view the tutorial explaining
the source type you’ve selected.
Ask a Librarian if you’re still not sure
OR
Click be...
NoodleTools defaults to the form for an article
found in a Print journal
If you found your article
in one of the Library’s databases,
select the Database tab
Choose the name of the Database from the pop-up list

Complete the form with
Author’s Name
Article Title
Page numbers
Journal Title
Volume and Issue numbers
Publication Date
And Submit
Your bibliography with your new
Journal Article citation
Click on Footnote Format for the pop-up window
showing the format for your first footnote
and subsequent notes.
Add Page number(s) for
quotations and paraphrases too.
Edit, Copy or Delete a citation

  2. 2. Choose your article type (journal, magazine or newspaper) from the pull-down menu For example, Journal
  3. 3. You may view the tutorial explaining the source type you’ve selected. Ask a Librarian if you’re still not sure OR Click below* When you’re sure you have the right source type, choose Continue. Don’t worry, you can change it later if you need to. *
  4. 4. NoodleTools defaults to the form for an article found in a Print journal
  5. 5. If you found your article in one of the Library’s databases, select the Database tab
  6. 6. Choose the name of the Database from the pop-up list X X X NOTE: Leave DOI, URL and Database Accession Number fields blank
  7. 7. Complete the form with Author’s Name Article Title Page numbers Journal Title Volume and Issue numbers Publication Date
  8. 8. And Submit
  9. 9. Your bibliography with your new Journal Article citation
  10. 10. Click on Footnote Format for the pop-up window showing the format for your first footnote and subsequent notes.
