  • Webinar ConclusionLessons Learned?
  • Conclusions – Lessons Learned? Self-Service, On-Demand Business Intelligence is still of major importance What is BI and what does it look like? o The BI Architecture is a multi-discipline environment Who / What are some of the main vendors & products in the marketplace? o There are many, both stack Vendor and Best of Breed o One Vendor / Product might not satisfy all needs in all disciplines (expect that you will need multiple tools in your BI toolbox to be successful) o It is ok to implement multiple tools and mix Best of Breed products in amongst your stack QlikView enables fast (response & development), easy to use, self-service, on-demand dashboard, analysis and ad-hoc search and query capabilities and can be considered Best of Breed in these areas. QlikView is not necessarily Best of Breed in all disciplines within the BI Architecture (Data Warehousing, Production / Financial Reporting, Planning & Forecasting, Data Mining) However, QlikView can still also be leveraged in these other areas within the BI Architecture (Data Staging & Integration, Data Warehousing & Data Provisioning, Metadata Services) QlikView can be considered a good, first, multi-purpose tool as you start building your BI toolbox© AMLLP 2011 - All Rights Reserved 22
  • Why might QlikView Stand Out from the Crowd? QlikView’s primary strength is at the user deployment end of the BI Architecture, where business value is derived from business users acting upon their findings related to interactions with their Decision Support Systems. QlikView is fast, intuitive and easy to use, both from a business user perspective and an IT development perspective. o a QlikView deployment (spanning the BI Architecture) can be completed in days and weeks, not months and years o all business users across all departments within an organization can learn to use QlikView in a matter of minutes QlikView is strong across multiple disciplines within the BI Architecture and if you had to have only one tool, QlikView could be that tool. QlikView can be used successfully to; o help prototype your Data Staging & Integration layer o provide a blueprint solution design for your wider Data Warehouse & Data Provisioning needs o Deliver business value through visualizations, scorecards, dashboards, analysis, ad-hoc search and query capabilities during and after the development and construction of your enterprise-wide data warehouse infrastructure© AMLLP 2011 - All Rights Reserved 23
