Mabuhay!

There are many who are unable to participate in the Holy Week tradition of visiting 7 Churches and doing the Way of the Cross, for all sorts of reasons.

Some may be far from home in the Americas, in the Middle East, Europe, Asia or elsewhere around the world, while others are confined to their homes due to old age or illness and still others may be at work.

We have therefore prepared a small touch of home for Holy Week to offer you the opportunity to visit 7 historic churches on Panay Island and elsewhere with two Stations of the Way of the Cross at each church to help with your Holy Week observances.

  4. 4. Preparatory Prayer::O most merciful Jesus, with a contrite heart and penitent spirit, I bow down in profoundhumility before Your divine majesty. I adore You as my supreme Lord and Master; I believe inYou, I hope in You, I love You above all things. I am heartily sorry for having offended You,my Supreme and Only Good. I resolve to amend my life, and although I am unworthy toobtain mercy, yet the sight of Your holy cross, on which You died, inspires me with hope andconsolation. I will, therefore, meditate on Your sufferings, and visit the stations of YourPassion in company with Your sorrowful Mother and my guardian angel, with the intention ofpromoting Your honour and saving my soul.I desire to gain all the indulgences granted for this holy exercise for myself and for the PoorSouls in Purgatory. O merciful Redeemer, who has said, "And I, if I be lifted from earth, willdraw all things to Myself," draw my heart and my love to You, that I may perform this devotionas perfectly as possible, and that I may live and die in union with You.Amen. copyright (c) historicphilippines.com 2012-2013 2012- 4
