  • Great presentation! The language is plain English and speaks directly to the viewer. It is conversational and very simple to understand. I think this is the most effective communication method. Yes, Google does collect information but I think you’re position is rather bias. There are certainly benefits to this feature. I do enjoy the recommended stream of videos to watch based on my search history. I would like to know more about the terms of the copyright that I hold on my content. Is it possible for me to choose a type of Creative Commons license for my content?

  • Hi Sehwan-

YouTube, like a great many other social media sites that students have based their primers around, including my Steam Subscriber Agreement primer, has a 13+ age restriction. I haven't seen anybody delve into why this is so. I did a websearch and found that Belkam (2013) explained the answer. The Child Online Privacy Act or COPPA went into effect in 2000. This law requires Internet sites that collect data from minors have the minors be at least 13 years of age and if they are younger to have the child gain parental permission to register to the site.

    Good work on your primer.
