  • 3. What is a Portable App?“A portable application (portable app), sometimes alsocalled standalone, is a computer program designed torun independently from an operating system.   • 4. Why Use A Portable App? Does not add anything to the registry Can be run without administrative privileges Can be run from CD, USB, or other external drives Generally leaves no trace behind on the host PC
