    5. 5. What are its modules<br />The modules of HIS can be classified into various categories. The primary category are as follows:<br />Back office: <br />In this category, patient is indirectly involved with the system.<br />Front office: <br />In this category, patient is directly involved with the system.<br />
    6. 6. Patient Registration<br /><ul><li>Patient demographics are captured in this module of HIS
    7. 7. At the time of patient registration, the system generates a unique MRN (Medical Registration Number)
    8. 8. Subsequently appointments can be generated / scheduled using MRN</li></li></ul><li>Appointment Scheduling<br /><ul><li>Any appointment with the physician is scheduled via this module</li></li></ul><li>Admission Discharge Transfer (ADT)<br />
    9. 9. Admission Discharge Transfer(ADT)<br /><ul><li>Admission: Patient admission details like purpose of admission, date of admission, admission department are captured.
    10. 10. Transfer: It describes the patient’s transfer to some other ward.
    11. 11. Discharge: Once patient leaves the hospital, the discharge details are captured and maintained in the system.

    39. 39. It can be generated on daily/weekly basis or at the time of discharge.</li></li></ul><li>Insurance and Contracts Management<br /><ul><li>It shares the diagnosis and the procedural code with the insurance organization or reimbursement
