    3. 3. IntroLopito is a 100% owned agency in Puerto Rico.Lopito has been working in the Caribbean region formore than 40 years. Lopito’s clients include:AT&TJetBlueNestleL’OrealDoralbankTherefore, Lopito had to develop a new and fullyfunctional Intranet site in order to manage the agency’scontinues growth 3
    4. 4. “Choosing a content management system can betricky. Without a clearly defined set ofrequirements, you will be seduced by fancyfunctionality that you will never use. What thenshould you look for in a CMS?” Paul Boag – Smashing Magazine 4
    5. 5. 1.- Develop a Core Functionality A multidisciplinary team (Planning, IT, Accounts and Digital) developed the Specification Charter that outlined the Intranet functionalities 5
    6. 6. 2.- The Search for the right CMSThe Development Team led by Enrique (Quique) Ballesténeeded to identify the right CMS, considering:1.- Open Source: because of the flexibility and…we just loveopen source2.- Customization: As an agency, our requirements go beyondjust “creating, deleting, editing and organizing pages”3.- Price: Lopito needed flexibility on the Intranet investment sothe approach was: launch fast and cheap but update frequently(according to needs) 6
    7. 7. The Team chose: Concrete5Concrete5 is Free and Open Source (FOSS) under the MITsoftware license. This protects Concrete5 liability but letsdevelopers do anything they wantOne of the characteristics that we really like of Concrete5, it wasthe ability to use Themes and Add-ons. Those are available for freeand for cost, giving us the flexibility to choose and match accordingour needs and budget 7
    8. 8. 3.- Add-Ons & ThemesSome of the Add-ons used in Lopito’s Intranet: 8

    10. 10. “We are very happy with our Intranet’s launch. Using Concrete5Open Source CMS, our Development team made it in a short timeand with all the functionalities we neededAlso its ease of use allows each business unit and department tohandle their own specific content. Something that it wasfundamental in our system requirements” Oliver Woeste – Strategic Planner Lopito Ileana & Howie 10
