Finesse launches document security solution in region
Cloud solutions provider, Finesse, announced it has launched document security
company Seclore's FileSecure Information Rights Management Solution (IRM) in the
Information rights management (IRM) is an evolution of Digital Rights Management (DRM), and
protects sensitive information (in the form of electronic documents and emails) from
unauthorised access and distribution.
FileSecure is designed for use by enterprises to protect information such as financial data,
intellectual property and senior executive communications. It is said to enable "complete
control and protection over electronic documents and e-mail".
Control is granular, so administrators can stipulate whether information can be viewed, printed,
or edited, on a user-by-user basis. The technology also allows for the protected information to
be controlled remotely, so permissions can be altered after distribution, both for internal and
"Until now, organisations have dealt with external threats by implementing traditional security
solutions like firewall, intrusion detection systems, and host-based antivirus platforms," Finesse
said in a statement.
"All these traditional models of security are mostly effective against external perceived threats.
These solutions are designed to keep unauthorised personnel away from key internal systems
and confidential information. Even after having these perimeter defences in place,
organisations are still vulnerable to data breaches from within the organisation."
"Seclore's FileSecure solution addresses these issues for an organisation," said Ajay Alex,
practice head, BFSI at Finesse.
"This FileSecure solution is a distributed document usage control system, which can control
document usage rights for documents distributed within and outside of the enterprise. These
rights can be changed or revoked, even after document dissemination. FileSecure IRM
empowers individual users to be in full control of the document's usage, for the information
owned by them."
