  3. 3. Interphase <ul><li>The cell grows to the mature size </li></ul><ul><li>Makes a copy of its DNA </li></ul><ul><li>Chromosomes copies themselves </li></ul>Back
  4. 4. Prophase <ul><li>Nuclear membrane disappears. </li></ul><ul><li>Spindle fibers form at the poles of the cell. </li></ul>Back
  5. 5. Metaphase <ul><li>Chromosomes line up at the middle. </li></ul><ul><li>2 spindle fibers attach to each chromosomes pair. </li></ul>Back
  6. 6. Anaphase <ul><li>Chromosomes pair split and the fiber strands pull the chromosomes to each pole. </li></ul>Back
  7. 7. Telophase <ul><li>2 new nuclei form at two poles of the cell where chromosomes have gathered </li></ul><ul><li>Mitosis is complete. </li></ul><ul><li>Cell membrane pinches together </li></ul>Back
