    Hartmann Design Portfolio - Presentation Transcript

    1. Coverdesign by cd-cover, booklet und label: Fritz Wunderlich – privat, Deutsche Grammophon, 2006 I had access to family pictures to create a fitting visual package for the impressive homerecordings of the great classical tenor singer.
    2. Coverdesign by cd-cover, booklet und label: Tok Tok Tok – She and He, Boutique, 2008 The color-overlayed black and white photo by Mattias Botor recreates the style of the groovy soul-jazz recordings era and the typography embodies the elegance of the tight funk.
    3. Coverdesign by 4 cd-compilation box-set, 40 page booklet und labels: Swinging Ballroom Berlin II, Boutique, 2003 Original recordings of jazz- and showorchestras from the 20s through the 40s. The Box fits on the shelfs of record collectors and the design is firmly based on the period.
    4. Coverdesign by compilation-cd and foldout lp: Psychedelic Jazz, Boutique, 2003 A compilation of jazz-recordings of the late 60s and early 70s. We managed to get the famous Charles Wilp photographs (Afri Cola shooting), which I overlayed with soapbubble textures and completed the layout with my lettering.
    5. artdireCtion by print ad: Noa and Paolo Conte, Universal Classics & Jazz, 2008 One advertisement for two albums by different, international artists. I emphasize the differences with absolute contrasts and meld the layout with relative symmetry.
    6. artdireCtion by print ad: Joan Sutherland, Universal Classics & Jazz, 2007 The typogrphy is based on the porduct related to the artist photograph, resulting in the classic, sophisticated feel. I expanded the image background using Photoshop.
    7. artdireCtion by print ad: Marie Antoinette Soundtrack, Universal Classics & Jazz, 2007 I used the original artwork as much for inspiration as the memory of vintage new-wave style, an era which music is featured on the movie soundtrack.
    8. artdireCtion by flyer: Easy Stressmanagement seminar, 2008 I had to find a picture that supports the message as well as it fits inside the small campain budget. The typography is friendly, calm and clear. The flyer is also being used in pdf format for e-mails.
    9. branding by logo und webdesign: www.kustom-kards.com, 2007 Electronic greeting cards for sites like MySpace. The logo has to keep its integrity at small resolutions. In keeping with the custom-made theme I created differently colored versions.
    10. branding by cd-series and box-set: Spiegel Edition Jazz History, Verve, 2005 Each of the eight volumes covers a decade. I chose period photos and developed a logo that incorporates the Spiegel-Edition logotype at the required size.
    11. branding by artist logo and webdesign, Kahuna Kawentzmann, 2008 The various elements of the heraldic composition are used on the blog, MySpace, YouTube and so forth. Keeping a familiar identity, and have a living, individual page look on each profile at the same time.
