PWA: PurposePartner With an Artist is a program whereinbusinesses and artists collaborate with oneanother to create unique and innovative artworksthat are inspired by the businesses themselves –the workers, the customers, the site, the historyof the building – and the collaborative process.
PWA: How it WorksPWA is an opportunity for artists to make collaborative work outside oftraditional visual art spaces. Artists are invited to determine the contentand method of their work in response to the physical, historical, and/orcultural aspects of a site, and the lived experiences of the people whowork in or use the site. PWA challenges artists to think about their workand their roles as artists in new waysGoals: The goals of PWA are to:•Provide high-profile exhibition and career-building opportunities forcontemporary artists•Provide quality, innovative arts experiences that are part of the dailylives of Gloucester residents and visitors•Strengthen the relationships between the arts and businesscommunities•Create exposure and economic opportunities for artists and businessowners
