What could be better than getting movies and television shows streamed directly to your iPad? The price of the app that’s what. It’s free. But you still have to pay that monthly Netflix fee. Gotcha!
2. iBooks Image Courtesy of Apple.com Apple goes toe-to-toe with Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes and Noble’s Nook for the eReader market with the app iBooks. Bibliophiles can electronically download their favorite tome from iTunes. No wonder this is Apple’s number one free iPad app.

Now, some may say scratching on your iPad’s absurd, but if it allows you to leave crates of vinyl at home, that’s one less trip to the chiropractor.

It’s actually the classic Scrabble. But unlike some of the other apps listed here, this one’s going to cost you $9.99.
