ForewordCollins McNicholas are pleased to publish our 2011 Salary Survey of management,professional and administrative salaries in Ireland.These salaries are based on the actual salary information provided by our clients forvacancies we have worked on and/or filled in the first three months of this year. Theinformation is largely based on salaries in the multinational sector which has accounted for thevast majority of the positions we have worked on/or filled year to date. The information iscorroborated by the information supplied to us by job seekers who register with us who are inemployment at the time of registration.As Collins McNicholas has offices based in each of the regions surveyed, the informationsupplied for each region is based on our actual experience of working with employers in thatregion and our knowledge of salaries of candidates in employment, who are registered on ourdatabase in that region.It is also worth pointing out that the information is based on a significantly increased numberof job vacancies and placements year to date which reflects recent market commentaryrelating to the significant pick up in the export sector. Specifically the number of job vacanciesin Collins McNicholas in 2011 is 69% higher than it was in the first quarter of 2010. Thisincreased number of vacancies as well as being a tangible indicator of an increase ineconomic activity in 2011 also means there can be a high level of confidence in the accuracyof the information supplied in this salary survey as it is based on a significantly larger sampleof open vacancies this year.In general terms this increase in job vacancies has not resulted in significant salary increasesalthough there have been some increases in certain sectors and in certain regions based onsupply and demand. It seems that this lack of significant upward movement in salaries isreflective of a growing recognition among employers and employees that companies mustcontinue to work to regain their competitiveness to compete successfully in the global marketplace.Collins McNicholas have deliberately not included a section on benefits this year as there istoo wide a discrepancy in the extent of benefits supplied across different levels of positionsand across different sectors for the information to be of significant value to employers orprospective employers.We hope the information will prove to be of value to companies which are established inIreland and also to multinational companies who are considering establishing a presence inIreland.
