  • 2. The region and neighbors
    This is where Aquitaine is for the region in France
    The regional capital is Bordeaux
    In Aquitaine the region has 5 neighbors: Dordogne, Gironde, Landes, Pyrénées Atlantiques, lot et Garonne
  • 3. Bordeaux
    Bordeaux is located in Gironde, Aquitaine
    It has an agreeable climate
    It was once part of the English Kingdom
    but then the French retook possession,
    but it had to be declined and had to wait
    200 years for prosperity to return.
    There are lots of historical stuff there
    It was found during the roman empire time on 350 B.C.
  • 4. Geographical
    Aquitaine is bordered to the south by Pyrénées Mountains
    Aquitaine consists of 41,308 km equivalent to 7.6 % of France's total surface area.
    Aquitaine is bordered along its west coast by Atlantic Ocean.
    There are a lot of ski resorts La Pierre St Martin
  • 5. Castle of Beynac
    Its in the department of Dordogne
    It’s a fortress
    Its near some rocks and trees
    since centuries its rival planted on left bank of the river
  • 6. La Roque-Gageac
    You can visit the village and the medieval sites
    Take boat trips up and down Dordogne river
    The Gallo-Romans remains found at La Roque-Gageac
    Take hiking trips
    Best view on the village
  • 7. Sports and Food
    Médoc has the red wine
    Garonne has sweet and sour wines
    Liver spread
    There's Golf, biking, hiking, horseback riding, surfing, water sports
  • 8. Alain Rousset
    He is a socialist president of Aquitaine
    A Deputy in the National Assembly of France
    He was elected to the regional council of Aquitaine in 1998 and then reelected in 2004
    He entered the national assembly in 2007
  • 9. Festivals
    Aquitaine’s main Festival event is the music festival
    It enhances tourists to see the culture of their with concerts and jazz. Also folk and rock.
    They do it every summer
    There are at least two Festivals every month
    Music
    Folk and jazz is popular
    There is a lot of ballet companies
