How it works: • Novalis Tx treats prostate cancer with a procedure called stereotac:c body radia:on therapy, a noninvasive method of trea:ng tumors with precisely targeted high-‐dose radia:on. The result is greatly increased accuracy that spares healthy Essue. • Prior to treatment, some pa:ents may require small metal :ssue markers known as ﬁducials implanted in the prostate to help the Novalis Tx pinpoint the tumor loca:on throughout each treatment, ensuring the radiaEon beams delivered during treatment are always locked on the tumor. • Pa:ents are then scheduled for no more than ﬁve Novalis Tx treatments.
