• An umcompromising mobile interface.
• Is perfect for desktop usage with a great usability.
• Provides a perfect balanced feature combination
with analog + digital I/Os and Mic/Instrument Preamps.
• Combines classic and brand new RME features.
• Comes with an outstanding design.

4 x Analog Output
Main Output (XLR balanced) + Phones (TRS)
Based on RME's reference design from the
high-end converters ADI-8 QS and M-32 DA.
Outstanding THD, SNR: 115 dB(A).
The Phones output delivers the full sonic experience of up to 192 kHz.

Digital I/O: ADAT
Optical TOSLINK I/O.
Usable as ADAT port with SMUX support for up to 192 kHz.
Output: 8 Channels Input: 8 Channels
In combination with an ADAT converter,
like the RME ADI-8 QS, the Babyface provides an incredible
amount of 10 analog input and 12 output channels.
„I always thought the TOSLINK connector could equally be used for ADAT.
Hooray, there it is. So with an external ADAT capable preamp (up to and including OctaMic II or
even Micstacy) and the two built-in mic pres, a very portable 10-channel recording rig!“
Digital I/O: SPDIF
The optical TOSLINK I/O is alternatively
usable as SPDIF port with up to 192 kHz.
Output: 2 Channels Input: 2 Channels
A digital SPDIF converter
- like RME ADI-2-
adds two high-quality analog I/Os to the Babyface,
for a total of 4 input and 6 output channels.
The integrated MIDI I/O completes the list of I/Os
and turns the Babyface into a creative audio system of universal usability.
Do what you want - wherever you want!
Mobility and Bus-Power
„ This is potentially an interesting device for
simple stereo field recording/ reporting,
possibly with a netbook type device ...“
The Babyface runs completely from the USB bus.
No disadvantage, no performance difference,
no features less, no sound compromises.
No power supply necessary (optional available).
USB 2.0 connector
