    • Take advantage of their tutorials to create your WIKI.

    • Add a variety of types of pages to your WIKI to engage students in a variety of creative activities.
    • Types of pages / activities I have used include BLOG, COMMENT, TEST REVIEW.

  • 13. Using WIKIS With Your Colleagues
    • A collaborative WIKI can be used by departments or small instructional groups, to keep in touch or plan collaboratively.

  • 16. SECURITY
    • Set up your WIKI security settings so that only invited users may view the WIKI. This protects student privacy.
    • Set pages so that students may only edit in the manner you wish. The BASIC membership only allows comprehensive settings for the entire WIKI, so choose “read only” in this case.
    • Teach your students your expectations for commenting on the WIKI.
    • Use email notifications to monitor student comments. Delete those that are inappropriate.

      • Contact the OIT to inquire about training in using WIKIS in the classroom, in order to have access to the enhanced software.
    • Brainstorm a list of 5-10 ways you could use WIKIS with your students or your colleagues.

    • Share your favorite idea with the entire group.
