12. 12. Online portfolios should…
Be unique and as well designed as the projects inside of them.
“If you got a Macbook and it came in a greasy paper bag…”
– Kevin, Marketing Manager
13. 13. Online portfolios should…
Be unique and as well designed as the projects inside of them.
“It should definitely be customizable to a point where it’s not like…you can see it
all over the place”.
- Martina, Information Architect
14. 14. Online portfolios should…
Show the purpose, process and context of the projects.
15. 15. Online portfolios should…
Show the purpose, process and context of the projects.
I gain trust from seeing the process. You can photoshop something up and there are endless ways of making things look pretty. But there aren’t endless ways of having really solid process…you either have it or you don’t.
- Marcus, Gaming Company Team Lead
16. 16. Online portfolios should…
Show the purpose, process and context of the projects.
“It’s always the finished article. It’s never the process. I would like to learn about how they got to where they got to…like if they’re developing a website, what were the requirements? Because you can look at it and say ‘yea, that’s a great website’. It looks great, but does it do what the client wanted it to do? What’s the application? How is it being used now? Where is that?”
- Matt, eLearning Production Manager
17. 17. Online portfolios should…
Be relevant and tailored to specific roles and responsibilities.
18. 18. Online portfolios should…
Be relevant and tailored to specific roles and responsibilities.
If someone submitted to me a really killer portfolio,…they’ve almost critically reflected on their own work by preparing the portfolio. They haven’t just dumped a bunch of a screen shots. They’ve actually thought about ‘What is it that a prospective employer should want to get from my work?’”
- Matt, eLearning Production Manager
