Strategic planning <ul><li>May 2009: a weekend brainstorming about the future of the Association (at Sausti manor house outside of Tallinn) </li></ul><ul><li>February 2010: a discussion in work groups, sections and with confidential persons at the Haapsalu Children’s Library </li></ul><ul><li>September 2010: the first project of the strategic plan </li></ul><ul><li>October 2010: the project of the strategic plan was given expert opinions by ten members of the Association </li></ul><ul><li>February 2011: a training program for 30 persons on the basics of strategy (in Kohila outside of Tallinn) </li></ul><ul><li>Spring 2011: a broad-based discussion is going on in work groups, sections and amon g all members of the Association </li></ul>
  8. 8. Mission <ul><li>The mission of ELA is to help preserve the Estonian national identity through appreciation, preservation, development, acknowledgement of libraries in Estonia . </li></ul>
  9. 9. Vision <ul><li>Vision of the ELA is to bring together different types of libraries and librarians while acting as a policymaker, treasurer and moderator of information. The Association is a trustworthy partner for the state, civil societies and the private sector. </li></ul>
