  • 3. A pollen snack The Red Cosmos flower, shown here in full bloom at a public garden in New Delhi, India, belongs to the sunflower family. These flowers flaunt bright colorful disks gracefully balanced on long slender stems, and lacy foliage. It is a plant that's easy to grow and thrives even on poor soil.
  • 4. Flower tower Crocuses blossom at the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, making the monument more photogenic then usual.
  • 5. Purple park People stroll through a sea of crocuses in a park in Husum, Germany. Those people may have 15th century monks to thank for the 4.5 million blossoms: According to a legend, those monks planted the first crocuses there.
  • 6. Butterfly kisses Monarchs rest on top of flowers at the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, near the town of Chincua, Mexico. While monarchs are not endangered, scientists say deforestation could threaten their existence.
  • 7. English garden Snowdrops - celebrated as a sign of spring - grow in front of The Houses of Parliament in London, England.
  • 8. Trumpet player A narcissus plant - more commonly known as the daffodil - blooms in Tokyo, Japan.
  • 9. Garden of Eden Visitors walk among the flowers inside one of the two biodomes at the Eden Project near St Austell, Cornwall, England. The project - which opened in 2001 and has attracted over one million visitors - showcases 100,000 plants from around the world.
  • 10. Bird, meet blossom A Japanese white-eye perches on a branch of a cherry blossom tree at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo.
  • 11. Visitors get a water view of the cherry blossoms surrounding the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C.
  • 12. Pretty in pink The delicate pink flowers of the Corymbia "summer beauty" flowering gum from the Myrtacae family are displayed in the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens.

  • 19. Bulbs to blooms Indian tourists stroll in the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Indian Kashmir, during a seven-day Tulip festival. With some 13,00,000 flowers, it is Asia's biggest tulip garden.
  • 20. Merrily, merrily... People row boats as they enjoy warm spring weather and the cherry blossoms in full bloom at the Imperial Palace moat in Tokyo, Japan
