    • The most significant monument is the Bastione Saint Remy.
      • to reach the top there are two parallel staircases of about 170 steps, but after so much fatigue… you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Cagliari.
    • The Basilica of San Saturnino is the oldest church in Cagliari and it is dedicated to the patron saint of the city.
    • The church was built in the V century A.D. and is located in the suburb of Villanova.
    • When the Romans conquered Cagliari they built the“amphiateatre”
    • T he theatre could hold up to 10,000 spectators that could watch exotic animal hunting, public executions and dramatic duels to the death between gladiators.
    • The Roman amphitheatre today is a centre for lyric and theatrical shows .
    • Between 1216 and 1326, Cagliari was under the Pisan rule. The city was fortified with walls and towers.
      • Now we can see the Elephant and San Pancrazio tower.
      • This is the elephant.
