  • 4. Slideshare  Go to http://www.slideshare.net
  • 5. Slideshare  Click on the “Sign up now” link
  • 6. Slideshare  Create user name  Use any email address  Create password  Join now  EXPLORE!
  • 7. Animoto  Animoto is a website designed to help people create videos out of pictures.  The user is able to choose any desired images and music they want.  They are also given the option to download from well known sites.  They can then make an Animoto short video (30 second) or an extended video with the material they have chosen.
  • 8. Animoto  Go to http://animoto.com
  • 9. Animoto  Complete the registration and create your own account  Click sign up!
  • 10. Animoto – Let’s get started!  After you have saved your pictures to your Pictures folder, click on Create Video tab
  • 11. Animoto – Step 1: Choose the length  Choose the “animoto short” for today
  • 12. Animoto – Step 2: Images  Choose “upload from your computer”
  • 13. Animoto – Step 2: Images  Open your Pictures folder  Select ALL the images you want to use  Click on Open
  • 14. Animoto – Step 2: Images  This is normal! This means success! 
  • 15. Animoto – Step 2: Images  This is the fun part! Play around the tools…  Then click on “continue”
  • 16. Animoto – Step 3: Music  Select whether you want their collection or something from your own laptop
  • 17. Animoto – Step 3: Music  Search through their collection and find a song  Click on the select button to the right of the title
  • 18. Animoto – Step 4: Finalize  Customize the length of your video, the speed of the images, and select your cover picture
  • 19. Animoto – Last Call!  This is your last chance to make changes. You can even backtrack to music and image selection  Take one last look, and then CREATE!
  • 20. Animoto  This process takes a while.  You will NOT lose any information if you click off the screen  You will receive an email when it is ready
  • 21. Glogster  What is Glogster?  A webpage designed to allow users to ‘poster themselves’ by creating their own artistic design using multimedia  So how can this connect to education?  Instead of using personal images, the images can be content-based
  • 22. Glogster  Go to www.glogster.com/edu
  • 23. Glogster  Complete the registration fields
  • 24. Glogster  Success looks like this:
  • 25. Glogster  You will have the following tools to play with:
  • 26. Glogster - Images  Select the Upload option and choose a picture
  • 27. Glogster – Wall paper  Choose the background you want
  • 28. Glogster - Text  Play around! There are a lot of options.
  • 29. Glogster - Text  Once you select your text option, close the window  Now, click on the word EDIT  You are now ready to type your message
  • 30. Glogster - Text  This tool bar allows you to alter the appearance of your text  Also allows you to insert a link
  • 31. Glogster - Graphics  Have a look at your options!
  • 32. Glogster - Video  Use the upload button to grab videos you have created.  Use the link tool to copy and paste a YouTube video
  • 33. Glogster - Sounds  Use the same methods to put music or narration on your glog
  • 34. Glogster – Get rid of it!  Select the part of your glog you want to remove  Click on the red trashcan
  • 35. Glogster – Finishing up!  Preview allows you to preview and test media  Save and publish will allow you to set it to public or private
  • 36. Skype  Go to www.skype.com
  • 37. Skype - Download  Scroll down and click on the link that says “Download now” under the heading All New Skype for Windows
  • 38. Skype  Follow the download instructions!  While you’re doing that, take a look at this:  Oprah LOVES Skype!
  • 39. Blogs  A website created to allow the authors to express their opinions  Endless opportunities for classroom  Ethics debates  Peer editing  Contemplating the effect of a particular historical event  Forum to share their work and ideas  Communicate with parents
  • 40. Blog – Create your own  Visit www.google.com  Click on sign-in  Create your own account
  • 41. Blog – Create your own  Complete the required information  Click on Blogger
  • 42. Blog – Create your own  Click on Create a Blog  Follow the prompts and fill in the required information
  • 43. Wikis  A website created to collect factual information about a topic from a variety of authors  Endless opportunities for classroom  Peer editing  Group authoring  “Dictionary”
