    • Conclusions Before we make hasty judgments about vanity, let’s step back and understand what’s happening with these literal posting of heads.  •Selfies reflect all aspects of contemporary society. •We are focused on the popularity factor of selfies. •Selfies originated out of people trying to tell stories. •People are still telling stories via selfies. •Story selfies don’t garner as many likes as celebrity selfies. •However, selfies that tell stories have greater impact. •The most impactful selfies happen we most clearly see ourselves in them. •Selfies serve as a mirror that we are privileged to witness. •Looking at the popularity factor alone, we are focusing on a vulnerability that asks outside permission for acceptance. scenarioDNA | connecting ideas to culture 51
