M2M enabling with BITX and BITXml: an example Today: retrofitting Tomorrow: embedding + Present machines aren’t designed to be monitored or controlled from a distance, but most of them have a serial port, where an external “M2M box” can be attached. Thanks to the BITXml “enabling components”, OEMs have all the information needed in order to make their assets “M2M ready”, i.e. embed a wireless module with a BITXml driver onboard or, when required, a BITX GW application (see next slide)
