    2. 1. Preparation and research
      • Research – find all the pages you want your students to use
      • Create a list of the URLs
      • Go to http://www.google.com and register for a Google account. Sign in now.
      • Go to http://www.google.com/coop/ to create your Search engine.

    5. 3. Next, provided you already signed in during step 1, you will be taken to the following page…
    6. 3. Specify Search Engine Settings
    7. 3. Specify Search Engine Settings
      • Give your Custom Search Engine a name
      • Type in a description
      • Type in some sample keywords that can be used for the search engine (use quotation marks around search expressions with more than one word)
      • Select the language you want to use (English is default)
    8. 3. Specify Search Engine Settings
      • List the URLs of all the sites you want to include in your search engine, one URL per line.
      • Choose whether to search only your listed sites , or whether to search the whole web, but to emphasize those sites .
      • Choose whether you want to allow ads (don’t)
      • Put a checkmark that you’ve read and agree to the Terms of Service
      • Click Next

    11. That’s it! Easy!
      • The list of options in the previous slide include:
        • Homepage –each search engine you’ve made has its own homepage. Give the URL of that search engine to your students to use in their work
        • Control Panel – takes you back to step 3 in this slide show, where you indicated the settings for your Search Engine.
        • Statistics – displays in graph format the usage frequency for your search engine.
        • Delete – deletes your search engine.
