  • Introductions- Tammy?? Or CJ Connie: Decisions, decisions …. Are you starting new as a Moodle district or are you upgrading…look at it through the lense of your district…teacher training, upgrades, what changes importing classes etc. We will be sharing SOME of the changes in Moodle 2.2 and 2.3 that we have seen as significant.
  • Connie
  • Connie
  • Connie New Activity Chooser
  • Connie – Moodle Admin has the option to make this go away.
  • Connie –There is a tool that will allow the Moodle Admin to upgrade 2.2 assignments. it is important to work with your Moodle Administrator to make all instructors aware of the changes before you would run the assignment upgrader.

  • Connie Setting up an assignment in V2.3 (NOTE: Display is new)
  • Connie – settings remain the same with some change in terminology Submission settings is where the – Advanced Uploading, Online text, Upload a Single file, and Offline activity are combined by choosing the settings
  • Connie – Feedback settings & Grading Methods will be discussed in more detail by Sue Rubric 2.2, Marking Guide 2.3 Groupings, a collection of Groups will be discussed in more detail – new feature in 2.2
  • Connie – Restrict access and Activity Completion similar in 2.2 and 2.3 – restrict access – is based on completion of other activities, and activity completion must be activated by the Moodle Admin and the teacher within their course settings.
  • You must create an Assignment to create a rubric. DO NOT look for rubrics to be listed in the Activity menu.
  • Connie - You must belong to a group before joining a grouping.
  • Connie - Click the groupings tab:, On the add/remove groups page, select the group(s) you want to add to the grouping from the "Potential members" list.
  • Connie -To use a particular grouping in an activity: In the "edit settings" link of the Settings block for the activity, click the "Show advanced" button in the common module settings section.Ensure that the group mode is set to separate or visible groups. Select the grouping from the grouping dropdown menu. Students ONLY see the activities of the groupings they are in.
