    What is it?

    In 1972, after years of advocacy from the BCTF, PD days were added to the school calendar with no loss to student instruction.
  • 3. Why add days?
  • 4. Teachers at the time believed that we needed time during the school year
  • 5. To hone our skills.
  • 6. To improve practice.
  • 7. In collaboration with

  • 12. And to stay current with changes related to teaching and learning.

  • 21. Within the guidelines of our collective agreement and our professional development policy.
  • 22. Who pays for our Professional Development?
  • 23. In accordance with our local collective agreement, our board pays 5% of our salary to support professional development.
