    • Routing ( to decide the path & sequence of production)
    • Scheduling ( working out the time required to perform each operation and also the time required to complete the entire process)
      • Production schedule (schedule the amount of work)
      • Master schedule (schedule for weekly/monthly production)
      • Manufacturing schedule (schedule for type of process to be used for production)
    • Loading is assignment of work to the operators at their machines or work places

    • Dispatching includes :
      • Movement of material/tools to workstations
      • Beginning of work on each station
      • Recording of time and cost involved in each operation
      • Supervision of work
    • Following Up ( removing bottle necks in the flow of work )
