  • 2. Definition • Maintenance management is the effective planning and execution of tasks performed to maintain the operation of equipment ,assets and facilities Er.Sartaj Singh Bajwa
  • 3. Objectives Of Maintenance Mgmt. • To maintain existing production assets and facilities in safe and sound conditions • To improve , enhance and then maintain existing assets and facility to achieve environmental standards • To renovate and modify the existing facilities Er.Sartaj Singh Bajwa

Types Of Maintenance Mgmt. • Predictive Maintenance means replacing items at fixed intervals It uses direct monitoring of the operating condition , efficiency and other indicators to determine the loss of efficiency • Preventive Maintenance relies on average life statistics. In this maintenance tasks are based on specific time/hours of operation that are based on historical data Benefits offered : reduction of maintenance expenditure , increase in useful life , elimination of downtime caused due to failure • Corrective Maintenance means fixing things when they are failing or when they have actually failed. It is the one that is generated as a result of system failure Er.Sartaj Singh Bajwa
