As we had to either find our own band and create our own lyrics or find an unsigned band, from whom we know or have found through friends or the internet, we had to make sure we had their permission to use their original material. Therefore, we emailed 'New York Summer' and saved the emails as proof of their permission, so we weren't copywriting. I have enclosed a selection of the emails in which we have contacted the band.
First email – Asking New York Summer (NYS) whether we can use their music to create our music video.
NYS reply – Their confirmation of allowing us to happily use their music.
Our Reply – Asking if it is possible to have a copy of the actual music track.
NYS – Confirmation to send their music to us. They sent Amanda the song through an MP3 version of the song.

I have enclosed the emails as evidence for the research and planning part of the coursework. We thought this would be convenient to enclose as it shows we have contacted the band and that they agreed for us to use the music, showing they are an unsigned band and that we have maintained and understood the brief given.

Thank you for watching We hope it was a clear, understanding presentation of our original band and song choice and evidence of being able to use the artist’s original material. Also, showing as a group our understanding of the tasks we were assigned and are able to follow clearly and professionally.
