Pin – A pin is an image or a URL that is added to Pinterest. Pins can be added from any source on the web or you can upload your own. Pins should link back to the original source, so whether it’s from a website, or something you manually uploaded, others will be able to see its origin. Board – Boards are where your pins are located. Each individual board is a set of pins on the topic of your choosing. Repin – If you are familiar with Twitter, a repin is similar to a retweet. It allows you to add any image you find to one of your own boards and share with your followers. If you see an image you like from another user, simply hover over the pin and press the repin button. Like – You also have the option to “like” a pin. When you “like” an image it is added to the Likes section of your profile, but is not added to one of your boards or shared with your followers.AK Stout@akstout18sayingitsocial.comakstout@sayingitsocial.com

Create an account – Currently Add “Pin It” browser Pinterest is invite-only. Comment – You can comment on a pin both in thumbnail and full-size views. To comment in thumbnail view, hover over the pin, click the comment button, type in your comment and click the comment button. To comment while in full-size view, comment in the box below the image. Exposure – As soon as you pinsomething, it shows up in yourfollowers’ home page and in the main From Google AnalyticsPinterest feed – meaning you don’t haveto hope and wait for your image orcontent to surface in search engineresults. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – The more links back to pages on your website, the more likely your website is to show up higher in search engine results. Each time you pin a page from your website and that pin is repined that is another link back to your site. Brand/Content Ambassadors – If your customers/followers really love your products and services, they have the ability to create an entire board just to help promote your brand. Everything – Don’t be afraid. No matter the content, if it can be categorized and an image can represent it – it can be pinned. Blog Posts – See above. No but seriously – if you always blog on the same topic, create a board with that topic and pin all of your blog posts to it – you’ll need to have an image, but all interesting blog posts have images, right? Videos – Videos play right within Pinterest which makes it very easy and enticing for Pinterest users to view! Find Friends – Start following your Facebook friends who are already using Pinterest. 4. Add a “Follow me on Pinterest” and/or Pinterest icon to your blog or website. 5. Add the “Pin It” bookmarklet to the Bookmarks Bar of your browser for easy pinning. 6. Add a “Pin It” button to your product pages and blog posts. 7. Start pinning! 1. Include keywords in your pin descriptions – this will help your pins show up in searches. 2. Search for users by interest for target marketing. 3. Find other brands that your audience would be following and follow their followers to get on their radar. 4. If you don’t necessarily want to pin something to a board but you want someone to notice you – “like” their pins instead. 5. Ask questions in your pin descriptions to make people think about your pins and comment. 6. Invite people to collaborate on your boards for crowdsourcing and brainstorming. 7.
