    Early Portuguese voyages were sponsored by Prince Henry the Navigator
    He expected to find spices, silk and wood
    Important people such as Vasco da Gama, Magellan, and Columbus sailed into the ocean
    Every time more people was discovering new desires to explore the ocean, including the Arabs.
    *Trading Networks and extensive seaborne all along the Arabian Peninsula, The Atlantic, Indian Ocean and The Pacific
    *Navigation changed the world
  • Spreading the word
    *Christianity begun to spread all over the Roman Empire.
    *Constantine’s conversion changed the Roman Empire.
    *Monarchs believed their authority was granted by God.
    * Religion was something really important.
    *Sense of spirituality and moral order.
    *Bartolome de Las Casas played an important role among the indians.
    *Christian Roman Emperors believed they were defenders of the church.
