  • 2.     CHARTER ISSUED TO THE COMPANY BY KING GEORGE I ON THE 24TH SEPT.1726. INTRODUCED UNIFORMITY OF APPROACH IN ALL THREE PRESIDENCIES. DESIGNATED AS ROYAL COURTS. CHARTER OF 1726 INITIATED THE SYSTEM OF APPEALS FROM THE COURTS IN INDIA TO PRIVY COUNCIL IN ENGLAND.
  • 3.     BRIDGE BETWEEN ENGLISH AND INDIAN LEGAL SYSTEM. ESTABLISHED A LOCAL LEGISLATURE IN EACH PRESIDENCY TOWN. DATE OF INTRODUCTION OF ENGLISH LAW IN PRESIDENCY TOWNS. CHARTER IS USUALLY CHARACTERIZED AS JUDICIAL CHARTER.
  • 4.    GREAT NEED OF PROPER AND COMPETENT POWER FOR MORE SPEEDY AND EFFECTUAL ADMINISTRATION OF CIVIL AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE. ABSENCE OF COMPETENT COURT IN INDIA. NEED TO CREATE CORPORATIONS IN ALL THE PRESIDENCY TOWNS ON UNIFORM BASIS.
